What I Eat in a Day Out

I went to Pittsburgh the other day with Darrin. We went to a Pirates game and just explored the city a bit. I figured that it would be fun to do a What I Ate post to show you guys what I eat on a not so typical day! I share a lot of my healthy days and nutrient dense foods on this site but that's not how I eat every single day. I have days like this, usually once a week, where I just eat whatever the heck I want as long as it's vegan. When I do this and gluten is involved I don't typically feel my best afterwards, but I think the fun is worth the brief moments of feeling not too great.

So, let's get to it! Here's what I ate in a day in the city.

PRE WORKOUT SNACK

I like to eat something small before my workout and lately it's been a watermelon slushie. Watermelon and ice blended together! The perfect amount of food right before a workout.

BREAKFAST

Once I got back from the gym I made myself some green banana ice cream to fuel up and cool off. I don't remember the last time I had something other than banana ice cream for breakfast. It's too good to skip a day, especially in the summer!

LUNCH

Darrin and I both got waffles at Eden. One of my favorite things to get there. The perfect amount of sweetness for me. I topped mine with strawberries, coconut, and peanut butter. An A+ combo!

SNACK

We went to the Pirates game and didn't want to order any actual food but wanted something to hold us over until we got to eat dinner afterwards. I knew exactly what I was after... Rita's! I used to love, love, love Rita's. I haven't had it in so long and Darrin never had it. I knew we had to order the cotton candy and it didn't let me down!

DINNER

After the game we went to Burgatory. I saw on their Instagram that they had an orange dreamsicle milkshake as their vegan special for the week. Sold! I knew we were getting that. We ordered one to share and I'd be lying if I said I didn't basically lick the glass clean. Whoops...

It was seriously my favorite vegan milkshake that I've had so far though. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

After the heavenly milkshake my veggie burger arrived. Oh yeah. It was 10/10 absolutely amazing. I ate everything and could barely walk out of the restaurant. I was so, so full. Another whoops!

And yet, I regret nothing.

I was still stuffed when I woke up the next day so that was definitely all that I ate for the day. What's your favorite vegan milkshake flavor? Or how about your favorite waffle toppings? Let me know! xx
