Gratitude, Resolutions, + Manifestations

Hello, hello!

Long time, no post. Well I did review my favorite recipes from 2015 to share with you all but other than that I've been pretty absent from this space. I made a lot of changes to this site as you may or may not have noticed. I set a goal for January to do just that. It's been a lot of work and frustration but I'm back and ready to find my footing and get back into regular posting. Today I want to talk about what to expect from this site this year, my new gratitude project, and manifestations/goals for 2016.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Recipes - tons of desserts as usual, more dinner recipes, and a little bit of everything in between. If you have any requests feel free to send them my way!
Yoga - As you may or may not know, I'm a certified Strala yoga guide and although I am not currently leading classes, that's what I want to do and feel drawn to. I'm not sure what exactly I'll be sharing on here with yoga but I'm in the process of figuring it out. Stay tuned!
365 Days of Gratitude - I started a project on my Instagram where I'm posting a photo everyday with something that I am grateful for. I'm taking that project a bit further and sharing it on here as well in a bit more detail. More about this later on in this post.
Travel - I don't have any current travel plans but I want to use the "travel" term lightly and share all of the adventures that I go on. Traveling doesn't have to be something extravagant and far away, if I travel 30 minutes to go to a new hiking spot then I want to share!
Veganism - I am extremely passionate about veganism for ethical, environmental, and health reasons. I don't really talk about reasons why or anything like that much anymore. I always feel like I need to do more as a vegan though and I want to start doing so. How? I'm not entirely sure yet. But it's happening.
Positivity/Manifestations/Self Care - A healthy lifestyle isn't just a healthy body, it all goes much deeper than that and I want to share any thoughts and feelings that I have on these topics.

Basically, I want this site to be a place that I can share all kinds of things in my life. I want to be able to connect with you all and by sharing more about myself and my experiences will give me the opportunity to do so. Create N Plate was originally a lifestyle blog and I want to get back into that a bit more because after a few years of strictly recipes I know what I want and which direction that I need to go. 

365 Days Of Gratitude

Before the end of the year I came across something that I was so intrigued to research more. I came across 365Grateful and was intrigued by the idea and project that Hailey created a few years ago. On January 1, 2016 I started a gratitude project of my own. I decided to use my Instagram as a platform for the project which allows me to document everything and share it with anyone else who wants to follow along. I also wanted to make more detailed posts about my day share them on here as well. I love to document things and I think that this will be a great way to see how I transform and evolve throughout the upcoming year. So each day I'm going to post a short gratitude post on Instagram and then a bit more detailed post on here. I am so excited for this.

2016 Resolutions

Yes it's almost a week after New Year's but better late than never with these goals, right?!

Read 1 book per month
I need to start reading more and spending less time scrolling! I've gotten back into the habit of spending a lot of wasted time on social media and not so much time reading. So 1 book each month is happening. Starting tonight!

Do my Gratitude Project
I want to complete the whole entire years worth of gratitude posts.

Work on being present
I've improved so much with this but it's something to be constantly aware of and work at.

Half Marathon
Last year I trained for a half but didn't end up doing the race. I think I want to train properly this year and give it another (successful) shot!

Handstand Press
I'm on the quest for pressing up into a handstand and I want to practice at it everyday and see how close I can get by the end of this year!

Stick to Lifting
I usually only lift in the winter months but I want to try to stick with it this year and see how much stronger I can become with consistent lifting workouts.

Connect More Online
I want to connect with more people online and possibly meet them in person too! There's so many people I've met through social media and I love it so much. I want to continue to put myself out there and make those connections.

Build Community
I want to work on building a larger community of friends here on Create N Plate so that we can all share with each other and experience life together.

Travel Somewhere New
I use this as a resolution every year and each year I succeed. So why not do it again?!

I look at New Year's resolutions just like I view any other goals that I set throughout the year. I'm not setting any crazy goals, I know that these are all doable as long as I put in the effort and hold myself accountable. 

This upcoming year will be a great year because I'm going to make it a great year for myself. I'll spend my free time working hard at achieving my goals as well as resting up properly so that I have enough energy to be successful throughout my days. Being present, positive, realistic, and driven to create my ideal life is what 2016 will consist of. I'm so glad to have you here with me on this journey!
